Our Genetics
Parkdale Valais Blacknose has genetics from several top flocks in the United Kingdom.
Our first embryos imported in 2018, were from two outstanding rams, Prendwick Eros and Prendwick Basil, and two exceptional ewes, Prendwick Dot and Prendwick Dell-Girl, from Jamie Wood, Prendwick Farm. This was followed by embryos from Raymond Irvine (Valais Blacknose Scotland) and Adam Kirkbride (Cumberland Valais Blacknose) and semen from Geralt and Kerry Costello-Jones (Snowdonia Valais Blacknose) and Tom Blackwood (Ayrshire Valais Blacknose).

Parkdale Hyacinth

Parkdale Hyacinth won Champion Valais Blacknose Ewe at the New Zealand Agricultural Show, 2025, the largest agricultural show in New Zealand.
Sire, George is one of our main stud rams and we have been impressed with the lambs he has produced.
Parkdale Bubbles, Parkdale Dot, Rose Creek Prinz Eugen and Heartland Bojangles have all produced champions and maximum points graded offspring in the USA, graded at USA National Valais Blacknose Sheep Show, 2023 and 2024.
Prendwick Basil and Dot are both graded maximum points twice in the UK. Eros, Hulk and King Kong graded maximum points in Switzerland.
Parkdale Hermonie

Parkdale Hermonie is a stunning ewe. Her dam, Highland Ivy, is the dam of Iowa Marigold who sold for a record US$28,000 at the USA National Valais Blacknose Sale in 2025.
Hermonie's sire, Shoemakers Victor brings exciting new lines to our flock. Victor set the sales record at Blacknose Beauties, UK in 2021 and has produced some exceptional offspring, including three-time maximum points graded ewe, Ayrshire Ingrid. Ingrid and Highland Kitty are the only Valais outside of Switzerland to have been awarded maximum points three consecutive years. We are very lucky to have both represented in our genetics.
Maximum points in this pedigree include, Prendwick Eros, Highland King Kong and Highland Erin II.

Henrietta has multiple maximum points animals in her pedigree, including Prendwick Basil, Prendwick Eros, Westmorland Ego, Westmorland Dancer, Highland King Kong, Highland Queen and Hulk.
Sire, Highland Isa is the sire of WIVBS Malibu who was awarded 3rd overall out of all the purebred Valais ewes at the USA National Valais Blacknose Sheep Show, 2025.
Isa is also full sibling to Highland Incredible Hulk who sired of 4 of the 10 maximum points graded animals at Blacknose Beauties, UK in 2024.
Grand sire, Snowdonia Goliath, set the overall breed sale record in the UK in 2021. Goliath was also Overall Reserve Champion and Overall Male Champion at Blacknose Beauties, UK 2021.

Harper’s grandsire, Highland Eric, is maximum points and Overall Supreme Champion Valais at Blacknose Beauties, UK, in 2018. In 2019 Eric was awarded maximum points for the second time.
Prendiwck Basil Highland Queen and Hulk are also graded maximum points.

Glamour’s full siblings, Iowa Lavender Haze and Iowa Lilac, graded -1 off maximum at the USA National Valais Blacknose Sheep Show in 2024, coming first and second in their class, respectively.
Grand dam, Parkdale Bubbles, is the dam of Laurelhighland Bubbles, one of only three sheep graded maximum points at the USA National Valais Blacknose Sheep Show, 2023. Parkdale Bubbles is also the dam of Iowa Kevin who won Champion Purebred Ram and Reserve Supreme Champion Valais Blacknose at the same show and graded maximum points in 2024.

Glamour has a long list of maximum points graded animals in her pedigree: Prendwick Basil and Dot are both graded maximum points twice in the UK two of only ten Valais in the UK to achieve this. Eros, Hulk and King Kong graded maximum points in Switzerland. Westmoreland Ego and Dance are also both graded maximum points.

Parkdale Gerty placed 4th in a large class of 20 ewes at the New Zealand Agricultural Show, 2024.
Gerty’s dam, Highland Halle, is also the dam of Highland Kitty, Supreme Champion Valais Blacknose at the USA National Valais Blacknose Sheep Show, 2023. Kitty is one of only two Valais Blacknose outside of Switzerland to have even been awared maximum points three consecutive years, 2023, 2024 and 2025.
Granddam, Highland Erin II, is one of only five ewes in the UK to have scored maximum points two years in row. She was also the Overall Supreme Champion Valais at Blacknose Beauties, UK, 2019. Grandsire, Highland Eric, is two times graded maximum points and Overall Supreme Champion Valais at Blacknose Beauties, UK, in 2018.

Febe won Supreme Champion Valais Blacknose and Champion Ewe - New Zealand Agricultural Show 2023. In 2024 she won Reserve Champion Valais Blacknose Ewe at the same show.
Febe's sire, Parkdale Crackers, is the sire of Highland Kitty, graded maximum points and Supreme Champion Valais Blacknose at the USA National Valais Blacknose Sheep Show, 2023. Kitty is the only Valais in the USA to have been awarded maximum points for a second time at the 2024 USA National Show, also winning Champion Valais Ewe.
Febe’s pedigree contains numerous other maximum points graded animals including Prendwick Basil, Prendwick Dell-Girl and Prendwick Eros.
Highland Iris

Highland Iris is full sibling to Highland Incredible Hulk who sired 4 of the 10 maximum points graded animals at Blacknose Beauties, UK in 2024, an amazing achievement and a great pedigree! Iris is also full sibling to Highland Isa who has sired some exceptional offspring.
Iris’s dam, Highland Ester, is full sister to Highland Breeze. Breeze was the Supreme Champion Valais at the very first Blacknose Beauties Show, UK, in 2016. She retained the title again in 2017.
Iris has multiple maximum points animals in her pedigree, including Highland Queen, King Kong and Hulk.
